Welcome To Arabic Studies
The Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies of the former North East College of Arts and Science (NECAS) was transformed to a Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies University of Maiduguri. This followed the establishment of the University in1976. Since its inception, the Department offered Degrees and Diploma Courses in the discipline of Arabic and Islamic Studies, From that humble beginning, the Department has risen to international limelight. It has met the standard of Arabic-speaking institutions in some African countries and in circle of traditional learning in Northern Nigeria. The basic structures of the Arabic Studies curricula provide three and four-year degree program of Arabic Studies. The degree courses leading to B.A. (Honors) Degree in Arabic Studies. The Degree program commenced in 1978/79 Session and the first batch of the graduates of the Department passed out in 1981/1982, and in 2018 the Senate of the University of Maiduguri in its infinite wisdom deem it necessary to split the Department, which mark the birth of the two separate Departments, namely the Department of Arabic Studies and Department of Islamic Studies.

I am a Medical Laboratory Scientist and a Professor in Chemical Pathology. I am a lecturer and a researcher in Implementation Science University of Maiduguri. Producing accurate results that help in timely intervention and improve patient care, is my goal when I work on bench as a Laboratory Scientist. Discoveries during research, screenings and relating to those concern to find help or solution is the great fulfilment in life for me.
